Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29
Blessed are the ones who have not seen the answer to prayer yet, but still believe it will be done. Blessed are the ones who have loved ones out in the world, but know they will come home soon. Blessed are the ones who are sick, yet have faith in a miracle. Blessed are the ones who do not understand the circumstances, yet are convinced God is in control of all. Blessed are those who are unsure of where they are going, but obey the Lord anyway. Blessed are the ones who can’t see around the corner, but step out in faith. Blessed are the ones standing in the darkest hour yet their eyes are fixed on Jesus. Blessed are the ones in a hopeless situation, yet they’re confidence is in their Savior. Blessed are the ones who have lost all, yet they are certain of the love of the Lord. Blessed are the ones who have nothing, yet trust in their Heavenly Father. Blessed are the ones who don’t have to see with eyes, but are persuaded by the knowledge in the heart.
Blessings can only come from the Lord Himself. Being blessed shows that God's presence and His goodness is with you.
To believe is to have firm faith. Having this faith in the Lord is trusting Him, knowing His Words are true. Faith is the divinely inspired human response to God's historical revelation through Jesus Christ. (dictionary.com) This is completely believing in the love and goodness of God with no room for doubt. Having faith is expecting.
Even though we have not seen tangible proof that God has answered our prayer, we are happy and content in knowing He has heard our prayer. We accept the goodness of the Lord, no matter how or when He chooses to answer us.
We cannot see the end of the road, we don’t know the whole picture. Sometimes we can’t see the light, and everything looks hopeless, but our heart tells us God is right here. We are loyal to Jesus Christ because we are positive He is true to us. We know that we know.
We can be going thru the worst times and about to be pushed into the fire, but we are truly blessed when we trust our God. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would not bow down to Nebuchadnezzar. They would never bow to any other god. Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon- the king of confusion. His name means to overflow, to mix, to confound or mingle. The devil likes to mix the truth with a little lie. He mingles what seems to be good with pure evil. They wouldn’t bow to worry of what could happen, confusion the enemy tried to put in their lives, or fear of death the king of this world tried to impose on them. These men would not bow to an image or illusion. They knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that their God was real. He is bigger than all of these things. Their hearts were fixed on the love and deliverance of the Lord no matter how He chose to free them. They could not see a way out, but they were positive that God was with them. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not know the answer, but they believed in the Lord.
The woman with the issue of blood had no other hope. She hemorrhaged for 12 years and man had no answer for her. She thought within herself- she believed, “If I will only touch the hem of the robe of Jesus, I will be cured.” To touch meant to attach oneself. She wanted to be attached to Jesus. This woman wanted to be connected to Jesus. She knew in her heart that she would be saved if she came to Him. She would be delivered, protected, healed, and safe in Jesus hands. Even though the woman had not seen her healing yet, she believed in the Lord.
The people were begging him; they only wanted to touch the tassel of his robe. And all those who did touch it were made well. Matthew 14:36 People from all over came to Jesus, they trusted that He would save them and make them whole. Their faith was not in the physicians, it was in Jesus. These people, like the woman with the issue of blood, were divinely responding to God’s revelation of Jesus Christ to their hearts. They believed.
We are truly blessed when we put our faith in the Lord in every situation. We can be happy and content knowing our Lord is in control. Not only are we spiritually blessed, but our bodies also benefit from believing Jesus. Casting our cares upon the Lord relieves stress and worry. These things can physically cause ailments in the body. Peace comes thru trusting God.
....and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. Proverbs 16:20
Know that God is God; believe He is for you, not against you. Trust He has you in the palm of His hand and can take care of all things. Our Heavenly Father has been in control since before time began, and He still is. Keep your faith.
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
Hebrews 11:1 Living Bible
Do not give up and do not grow weary. Just believe.
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
